Protecting Kentucky's Interior
Welcome to RKCs web Page! The Rockcastle Karst Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the unique geological, hydrological, biological, and recreational resources associated with caves and karst. Our goal is to permanently protect caves and karst lands in the Rockcastle County, Kentucky and its surrounding areas through education, land acquisition, and resource management.

Announcing RKC's Legacy Endowment Fund

An Investment in the Future

RKC's Board of Directors is excited to announce the formation of a new Endowment Fund to provide a perpetual source of income. Your gifts to this fund will last forever. Growth from the fund will help RKC continue to increase our cave conservation programs.

The Rockcastle Karst Conservancy Legacy Endowment Fund was established with the Blue Grass Community Foundation for the specific purpose of strengthening the organization for the future. An endowed gift is made with the intention to preserve the principal value in perpetuity. Because of their permanence, endowments are among the most advantageous sources of funding for RKC. Considered a measure of an organizationís long-term strength, an endowment is essential, if RKC is to remain a leading karst conservancy. Please make a generous, continuing donation now to help build this fund to an effective generator of returns. A contribution can also be established through an estate or planned gift and is a great way to link your legacy with RKCís future.

Karst areas are being increasingly threatened by development, mining, and poor agriculture practices. Ground water is becoming polluted from surface runoff and becoming a hazard to our communities, and all who live in them. This is not just a problem for people who live on karst, but also to anyone who depends on their natural resources, such as fresh water and itís native wildlife. Actions must be taken today to preserve these areas for future generations.

Our Mission:

Supporting access to caves and protecting Kentuckyís karst environments in the Rockcastle County Region.

Our Vision:

Be the leading non-profit organization in owning and protecting significant cave and karst resources.
